| Eng.401 at the fill site |
Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - This morning RVFD was alerted along with Sta.600 (Greensboro), Sta.700 (Goldsboro), and Sta.300 (Denton) for working building fire on Boyce Mill Rd. in the 6-2 box. Chief-4 (Chief Utz) and Eng.401 (5 w/DC Winchester) were en route within minutes. Chief-6 (House) arrived and reported a four bay garage well involved, established command, and requested additional units. Chief Utz arrived and was assigned as the staging officer, but then was assigned to operations. Crew of Eng.401 proceeded to the scene, and was assigned to assist fire attack crews. After it was discovered that the the roof of the building had collapsed, Command evacuated all companies from the building, and went defensive. Eng.401 set up a hydrant in town, and established a fill site for the tankers. Crews worked on the scene for almost three hours. Thanks to Houston VFD for standing by for us.
