At 11:30am RVFD, along with Sta.80 (QAHVFC), Sta.600 (Greensboro), Sta.300 (Denton), and Talbot Co. Sta.60 (Easton) were alerted for a Structure Fire at 23501 Henry Rd., Carmean Grain. Chief-4 (Utz) arrived to find a silo containing 5,000 bushels of beans with light smoke showing from a grain dryer. Eng. 401 (4 with/DC Winchester) arrived and was assigned as investigation. As the call progressed command had requested to fill the assignment. Command had the remaining units continue to the scene "cold", with the exception of Tower-60. Once Tower-60 arrived and laddered the silo, it was found that a small amount beans had been ignited, leaving small pockets of fire at the top of the silo. Eng.703 (Goldsboro VFC) arrived and was given the task of setting up a fill site on Park Ave adjacent to Martin Sutton Park. As the call progressed, the remaining fire was extinguished and the situation was placed under control.
