Towards the end of rush hour on Thursday morning, RVFD was alerted to assist Talbot Co. Sta.80 on a MVC with heavy entrapment at Shore Hwy and Ridgely Rd.. Officer 803 (McNeal) arrived to find two Tractor-Trailers had collided, resulting in heavy entrapment to one subject. Sta. 300 (Denton) was alerted for the additional rescue, due to the entrapment. Squad-405 arrived under the command of Capt. Marvel, and went right to work on extricating the passenger. The driver was able to self-extricate himself. Caroline Co. EMS and Denton VFD EMS handled patient care. Aviation was also requested initially by command. After about 15 minute extrication time, the patient was delivered to Trooper-6 and was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
