This evening, RVFD members held the regular monthly company training. This training, however, was a combined session that involved both the EMS Division and Suppression Division. Attending the training was Caroline County Medical Director Dr. John Kroehmer. EMS Capt. KJ Marvel began the lecture part of the training with a review of High Performance CPR. Following the lecture, members performed High Performance CPR as a crew. This included the engine companies responsibility and duties on a special medical box that includes cardiac arrests. After a short break, members than trained on a new technique of performing High Performance CPR on a downed firefighter dressed with full protective equipment. This new procedure is taking hold across the country in accordance with saving our own brothers and sisters. Thanks go out to the EMS Division for a great training session, and to Dr. Kroehmer for attending and comments.
