RVFD Holds Training at the US Naval Academy
Wed, Jun 26, 2013

This evening, sixteen RVFD members loaded up on Squad-405, Utility-404, Chief-4, and proceeded to the Naval Support Activity Annapolis to participate in live fire training offered to us by the Naval Academy Fire Department.  This training session was a follow up to Chief Utz's company drill on Airport Firefighting in May.  All members did walk-through of the training prop, then split up into teams of three for an fire attack crew, and teams of two for a back up crew.  All members were trained in proper technique of approaching, and extinguishing aircraft fires both outside the prop and inside the fuselage.

RVFD would like to give a big THANK YOU to the following members of the Naval Academy Fire Department, Battalion Chief John Lyon for the instruction and commitment, and Firefighter Jeremy "Ridge" Mercure for being the support instructor, and to EMS Lt. Barbie Utz for taking the pictures.
